Sole Sound Designer for A Bit Lucky’s unannounced game. I am responsible for the entire audio pipeline. This includes all sound design, voice, ambience, implementation (using Unity), mixing, and other miscellaneous audio work.
Volition Inc – Audio Assistant …………………………………………………………… Feb. 2012 – Present
- One of the great things about working in this role at Volition Inc. is that my responsibilities go across the entire spectrum of game development, rather than one specific area. My responsibilities at Volition include work with pre-production and planning, coordinating and managing out-source contractors, sound design for our titles, technical audio implementation, audio system designs and pipelines, audio recordings and editing, audio testing and bug fixing, and everything else in between. My success in this role, along with my passion for game audio and experience across a broad range of audio design areas, makes me very confident I would be a great asset to any company in a game audio role.
Firebug Audio – Freelance Sound Designer and Audio Engineer ……………………. Oct. 2011 – Present
- This is a freelance company I started in October 2011. My focus is on providing my clients with sound design and music for their games. I also provide a variety of other audio services as well, such as audio editing, voice over, and audio production for a variety of projects. I have contributed sound design and music to several Indie game titles, and continue to find new work.
- I am also currently developing a royalty free sound effect library slated for release in Summer 2012! Keep an eye out!
Volition Inc – Assistant Audio Designer ……………………………………………… Dec. 2010 – Aug. 2011
- As an Assistant Audio Designer, I had a broad range of responsibilities that covered multiple areas of audio design and audio production. Not only was I responsible for designing audio for our titles and implementing them into the game using WWISE, I was also primarily responsible for coordinating with our outsource contractors and overseeing the voice and cinematic audio pipelines of our game.
Some of my achievements in this position include:
- Implementing and testing over 75,000 voice lines in our game.
- Prototyping and designing the voice of Zimos, a character whose voice lines are auto-tuned.
- Implementing and designing our Radio system to create realistic simulations of radio music, commercials, and news.
- Primary studio recording responsibilities for everything from voice recordings and field recordings, to corporate recordings.
- Extensive sound design for in-game assets and implementation using WWISE.
- Making extensive updates and fixes to our SFX database, and becoming the primary caretaker of our database.
Volition Inc – Audio Design Intern ………………………………………………….. Sept. 2010 – Dec. 2010
- As an Audio Design Intern at Volition, not only did I get ample opportunities to job shadow my colleagues, I also had many game-side audio responsibilities. I was responsible for most low-key sound design assets such as object impacts and deaths, as well as some more higher profile assets like interface, ambience, and animations. I was also responsible for editing all of our voice over, as well as working with the Cinematic and Writing teams for motion capture, cutscene audio, and voice selects. I also was responsible for recordings all temp dialogue for designers, as well as perform any audio production or management tasks that would be needed. Some of these tasks included things like spreadsheet creation, batch processing files, coordinating with outsource contractors, and more.
